About Sandlot Baseball

The Mission

We believe baseball should be fun, free, and full of laughter—not pressure, burnout, or sideline shouting. We’ve designed a whole new experience that brings back the spirit of the game—where kids play for the love of it, form friendships, and grow through play.

No rankings. No endless travel schedules. Just baseball, pure and simple.

What Makes Sandlot Baseball Different?

Limited Adult Involvement

Our league focuses on building or restoring a child’s love of play, sparking lifelong friendships, and nurturing character—never anxiety. It's not a path to Major League Baseball.

We create a “fun‑first” environment where coaches guide growth and parents fulfill a commitment to our Silent Sidelines philosophy. During live play, cheering effort (“Nice hustle!”) is encouraged; technical instruction (“Swing earlier!” or "Eye on the Ball!" among others) and criticism are not. Skill feedback belongs to practice sessions or coach‑athlete conversations.

By shifting the spotlight from outcomes to effort, we protect the joy of the game, help kids develop confidence that sticks well beyond the diamond, and give families a blueprint for positive sportsmanship. Everyone wins when children leave the park smiling and asking, “When do we play again?”

One Combined Practice/Game Session Each Week (2 hours)

For the first hour or so, we keep organized practice simple and meaningful. Players sharpen their skills under positive adult guidance. We'll end each weekly session with game situation scrimmages and eventually an hour of just playing the game.

No Formal League Standings or Playoff Tournaments

We keep score for fun—not for status. Each game is a new adventure, with no pressure to “make it to the finals” or “win it all.” At the conclusion of each game, the players receive a pack of baseball cards. The winning team gets two.

Flexible Team Rosters

Teams change from week to week, promoting friendship, flexibility, and cooperation across all players. Every kid gets the chance to meet new teammates and experience different roles.

Character-First Recognition

We celebrate what really matters — sportsmanship, effort, and kindness. Each week, players are recognized for the values that truly make a great teammate.

Accessible for Everyone

No fees, shared equipment, and a commitment to inclusivity mean that every child who wants to play, can play—no matter their background or experience level.

Our Promise:

We’re not raising the next generation of All-Stars. We’re raising the next generation of leaders, teammates, and joyful human beings. Because baseball isn’t just a sport — it’s a lifelong love when it’s played the right way.
