THE RETURN OF Fun: Sandlot Baseball

Players generally will practice and play by age according to birth year. No tryouts. Remember, we're playing for fun.

Age groups overlap to allow players to play up or down an age group if skill level suggests doing so creates a mutually beneficial development environment. 

Ages 8 - 10 (machine pitch)

Ages 10 - 12 (machine pitch)

To practice and play games, just show up at the designated time slot for your age group. See "Schedule" below. Teams are formed on a weekly basis. For games, teams will be drawn from the pool of participating players present at that week's session.

There are no season commitments. Play once or play every session as scheduled (with breaks to accommodate holidays and coach availability). 

Coaches are unpaid volunteers. Although we are not associated with the City of Orlando or its Parks & Recreation programming, all adults will be subject to a background check compliant with the City's current guidelines before engaging with players.

Bats, helmets, baseballs, and catchers gear are provided. Players must provide their own gloves, rubber cleats (recommended but not required), and hats. No uniforms are required.

We need community sponsors. The cost of providing equipment for two teams (minimum per age group) is roughly $2,000. With a sponsor, each player will receive a cap with logo and a banner for display during practice/game sessions. To sponsor an age group, e-mail dbrill@sandlotbaseball.org
